Thailand's air force confirms. The country has selected Saab's Gripen as its future fighter jet, writes Saab in a press release.
A final contract has not yet been written, according to Saab.
"We welcome the announcement that Thailand's air force has now chosen Gripen E/F as its future fighter jet and we look forward to the continued procurement process", says CEO Micael Johansson.
As early as last year, it was almost clear that Thailand wanted to buy new Gripen planes from the Swedish defense company. The country has been using an earlier model of Gripen planes since before.
