The Thai princess Bajrakitiyabha Mahidol, who has been in a coma for almost three years, is recovering after a serious blood infection earlier in August.
According to a statement from the court on Sunday, the princess's blood pressure has stabilized and she is receiving continued antibiotic treatment as well as help from a machine to be able to breathe.
The 46-year-old princess collapsed in December 2022 during a military dog training exercise and has since been unconscious.
Bajrakitiyabha, often called "Princess Bha", is educated in the UK, the US and Thailand. She has had assignments within the UN and engaged particularly for the rights of female prisoners.
Bajrakitiyabha is the only child from King Maha Vajiralongkorn's (regent name Rama X) marriage to his cousin, Princess Soamsawali. Since her father ascended to the throne in 2016, she has had a prominent role in public contexts and been talked about as a possible crown princess. She would then become the first female monarch in Thailand.
