A court in Texas has reduced a damages award of $50 million, equivalent to just over 473 million kronor, to $1.5 million.

The decision does not affect the larger damages award in Connecticut, of more than $1.2 billion.

The court does not believe that the two parents who sued Alex Jones in Texas have shown that they suffered enough for the state to raise its damages cap of $750,000 per person.

The parents' six-year-old son was one of 20 children shot dead by a 20-year-old man in the Newton, Connecticut, shooting. Six adults at the school and the gunman's mother were also killed.

Alex Jones attacked the parents of the dead children for a long time via the website Infowars, calling the massacre a hoax.
