Grapes are sensitive plants and are therefore often sprayed with pesticides.

The newspaper Råd & Rön had a lab test carried out on the amount of pesticide residues in the most common grapes sold in stores. Twenty-one different substances were found, in several cases substances that are banned by the EU. None of the six grape varieties tested were clean, not even the one sold as organic.

This spring, the newspaper conducted tests on small tomatoes, where the difficult-to-break-down chemicals PFAS were found in a majority of the samples. Traces of PFAS were also found in five of the six wine grape varieties now tested, writes Råd & Rön.
