Soccer referee Tess Olofsson makes her debut as head referee in an international men's tournament on Tuesday evening, in the Olympic Games match between USA–Guinea.

With this, she makes history as the first Swedish female referee in an international competitive match for men, reports SVT Norrbotten.

She will have blue-yellow company in the match from assistant referee Almira Spahic. Italian Francesca di Monte is the second assistant.

Tess Olofsson previously became the first woman to referee in the men's Allsvenskan in Sweden. During the Olympic Games in Paris, she has already refereed the women's match between Canada and New Zealand.
