Tesla warns that the aggressive tariff policy of the USA's President Donald Trump hits the electric car manufacturer through higher production costs in the USA.
In an unsigned letter from Tesla sent to the Trump administration, it is warned that other countries' retaliatory tariffs risk making it more expensive to manufacture cars in the USA.
A source involved in the letter dispatch says to Financial Times:
It is unsigned because no one at the company wants to get fired for sending it.
Tesla's main owner and CEO Elon Musk is closely allied with Trump, among other things as the head of Doge, the agency responsible for drastically reducing the state apparatus, which has resulted in around 100,000 state employees having to leave.
