For the 2026 fiscal year, the company expects production volume to be significantly higher than in previous years and for capacity utilisation to increase, the subsidiary Tesla Manufacturing Brandenburg writes in an annual report.
Production in Grünheide is being driven primarily by strong demand for the Tesla Model Y SUV.
Tesla's goal is to increase production at the factory to 375,000 electric cars per year and expand battery production, which according to the German news agency DPA is estimated to create 3,500 jobs.
