Starting today, Friday, residents of Austin, Texas, will be able to book and use Tesla's so-called Cybercab, self-driving taxis that have neither a steering wheel nor pedals. After testing in several American cities, Tesla held a launch event on Thursday evening, but only for a small group of invited guests.
Tesla has not yet provided many details about the rollout, such as how many cars will be in use in Austin, Bloomberg writes.
An answer to this question could send the share price either up or down, Morgan Stanley writes in an analysis. So far this year, Tesla's share has fallen more than 20 percent, while the broad S&P 500 index is up 12 percent.
