Five strokes over par – and the worst of all players on the course when he finished for the day at Pebble Beach.
Ludvig Åberg got a terrible start to the PGA tournament in California.
With 77 strokes in the first round, he needs a dream round on the second day to have a chance to reach a top position when the tournament is summarized.
Åberg made five bogeys and a double bogey and only managed to achieve two birdies.
The Northern Irishman Rory McIlroy had a much more enjoyable time. Åberg's playing partner for the day is at the top with six strokes under par and spiced up the round with the second hole-in-one of his career on the PGA tour.
The tournament is ongoing.
