More than 10,000 flights to or from the US were delayed on Sunday, the BBC reports. This is an increase compared to earlier this weekend, when around 6,000-7,000 flights were delayed per day.
The background is that the US Federal Aviation Administration has decided to cut air traffic at around 40 major airports in the country as a result of the ongoing government shutdown.
