Nasrallah was killed by Israel in Beirut in September and has until now been temporarily buried in a secret location. When Hezbollah holds an official funeral ceremony, a long list of dignitaries from the region are invited, including Iran's Foreign Minister and the Speaker of the Iranian Parliament.
Hezbollah has also called on supporters to participate in large numbers, in what is seen as an attempt to demonstrate strength from the Shia militia that has been weakened by Israeli attacks.
Also, Nasrallah's intended successor Hashem Safieddine, who was also killed by Israel, will be buried on Sunday.
At the same time, Israeli planes are reported to be flying low over Beirut. The roar of the fighter jets can be heard from the arena, according to AFP's journalists.
"The hostile planes flew low over Beirut's sky and its suburbs", reports Lebanon's state news agency in turn.
