Ten out of twelve publicly owned companies are not doing enough to prevent discrimination in their operations, according to a DO review.

The Discrimination Ombudsman (DO) has examined how twelve companies – state, regional or municipally owned – prevent discrimination linked to ethnicity and religion.

Ten companies, including state-owned Ringhals and Svenska spel, do not meet the requirements of the Discrimination Act.

"Many of the companies have only focused on discovering whether harassment occurs in the workplace. But employers should also investigate risks of discrimination in other areas, such as wages and working conditions, recruitment and promotion, and training and skills development," says investigator Anna Sander in a press release.
