Ten people have been arrested in Eidskog, Norway, suspected of illegal hunting of wolves, reports NRK.

The Norwegian environmental crime authority has also seized over 100 weapons.

The hunt led to the deaths of two wolves in January, according to the authorities. One of them has been found, and tracks have been secured from the site where the other was killed.

The large predators in Norway are endangered species. Illegal hunting of these animals is a serious environmental crime that affects biological diversity, says Tone Strømsnes Olsen at the environmental crime authority.

The arrested risk up to six years' imprisonment if convicted. Eidskog is located in the county of Innlandet in southeastern Norway.
