The man is suspected of being behind the live explosive device found near a school on Wednesday.
According to the police, the case is also linked to Friday's extensive police operation where a suspicious object was found at a gym in central Rättvik. An area was cordoned off for much of the day until the object was secured. The police have not said what the object was.
The 18-year-old has been in custody since Wednesday evening.
