It was in December last year that something exploded at a multi-family house in Tyresö. A 70-year-old woman who was on her way out of the house with her dog "suffered extensive and life-threatening injuries from the explosion", according to Nacka District Court.

The woman's dog was also seriously injured and was later put down.

The 17-year-old is convicted with the help of, among other things, DNA evidence and other traces that link him to the explosion.

According to the district court, an adult would have been sentenced to a long prison sentence, but since the perpetrator was 16 years old when he committed the crime, he is sentenced to closed youth care.

The 17-year-old will also have to pay damages to the woman.

Two other people are acquitted due to lack of evidence. One of them is, however, sentenced to prison for drug offenses and money laundering.
