A teenage boy who is suspected of the fire that destroyed a mosque in Hultsfred was not detained by the district court, reports P4 Kalmar.

The alarm about the fire came at 01.30 hours towards Tuesday and the building, which was previously a church, became completely engulfed in flames. No human was injured in the fire.

The prosecutor Camilla Nordgren had submitted a detention application to Kalmar district court, where she wrote that the boy is on probable grounds suspected of arson, reports Vimmerby Tidning.

But the prosecutor's request was rejected by the district court.
