It was on Tuesday evening just before 20:30 that the police received several calls about loud bangs in the Boländerna district. Outside, in close proximity to a restaurant, was found a person with serious gunshot wounds. The person was taken to hospital but died on Tuesday.
The person has been identified, but relatives have not yet been informed.
We estimate that it will take some time to do so, says Tobias Ahlén Svalbro, press spokesperson at the police, to TT.
The suspected shooter, who is under 18 years old, was arrested shortly after the alarm about the shooting.
The incident is being investigated as murder.
The police also state that they have cordoned off a larger area around Fyrisån in southern Uppsala, a cordon that is linked to the ongoing investigation.
