The 15-year-old has admitted to firing the shots, but denies wanting to harm anyone. The district court writes in the judgment that it is not possible to establish with sufficient degree of certainty that he was indifferent to the fact that the persons could die.
The 15-year-old is instead sentenced to one year of closed youth care for, among other things, gross weapon crime and several cases of unlawful threats. He will also have to pay damages to several people who were at the scene.
It was on May 19 that the teenager opened fire in the Oxhagen district of Örebro. After the incident, the police introduced a temporary security zone in the district.
