Since the end of May, protests have been held against plans to build a luxury hotel linked to Trump's daughter Ivanka and her husband Jared Kushner in a nature reserve on the Albanian coast.
On Thursday, police had a large presence outside parliament early in the morning, using water cannon and tear gas as protesters tried to break through security barriers to get closer to the building.
The project has become a symbol of dissatisfaction with suspected corruption and a lack of transparency in the government's work.
