The reigning World Champions and Olympic Games champions in team Niklas Edin took home the win against Norway with 6–4 in the World Championship in curling, but missed the chance to go directly to the semifinal.
The two best teams in the group stage go directly to the semifinal, while the teams in places three to six get to take the route via the quarterfinals. Team Edin did their part and won tonight's match – but the other results were not in favor of the Swedes. Instead, it will be Canada, with eleven wins and one loss, and Switzerland, with nine wins and three losses, who go directly to the semifinal.
Sweden is in fourth place with eight wins and four losses. Also advancing to the quarterfinal are Norway, China, and Scotland.
