The reigning Swedish Olympic champions have been swayed in the championship in Lohja, Finland.
So much so that for the second European Championship in a row they were about to end up outside the quartet playing for the medals.
But Sweden did their job and beat Austria 7–5 – and thanks to the 8–4 win against Norway, Switzerland ensured that Team Edin got the fourth and final semi-final – and that at the expense of reigning champion Germany.
Scotland awaits on Friday morning. Hardly a desirable opponent, for two reasons.
+ The Scots won nine straight games in the group stage.
+ Team Edin (Simon Olofsson, Christoffer Sundgren, Rasmus Wranå, Oskar Eriksson, Niklas Edin) had no chance in the match against the Scots, who won 11–4.
In the other semi-final, Switzerland and Italy will meet.
