The blue-and-yellow quartet, comprising Hasselborg, Sara McManus, Agnes Knochenhauer and Sofia Scharback, scored a three in the fourth end against Japan and went on to win 4–1.

They never relinquished the lead in their Olympic debut, and with the score at 8–4 Japan conceded before the final end.

Super happy. We've talked a lot about how we're going to approach this first match, and we're doing exactly what we talked about, says Hasselborg in the victory interview.

Even against the USA, Sweden had the upper hand early on. Sweden controlled the match and took it home, winning a controlled 9–4.

Team Anna Hasselborg won Olympic gold in PyeongChang 2018 and most recently Olympic bronze in Beijing.
