NA has taken part in internal communication within the school's staff. It appears that Örebro Municipality wants teachers to lead students around the premises where ten people were shot dead and six were injured on February 4, before the shooter Rickard Andersson took his own life.
However, many teachers are critical. Some argue that they do not have the right competence to meet the students' reactions during such a visit to the school. One refuses.
"I feel that I have enough to handle my own reactions after the act of violence and that it is not part of my teaching assignment to handle my students' reactions and experiences after ongoing deadly violence at the place where we are supposed to feel safe to work and study", writes a teacher, according to NA.
The visits are intended to be voluntary and are primarily for the teachers who have wished to visit the school together with their class. It was never the intention to put any pressure or force anything, but rather to offer a visit to the students, says Mokhtar Bennis, head of upper secondary and adult education.
