A teacher in South Korea has been arrested for fatally stabbing an 8-year-old student, reports the South Korean news agency Yonhap.
The teacher, a 40-year-old woman, has confessed to the crime that took place at an elementary school in the city of Daejeon.
The teacher was found with slash wounds on her neck, likely self-inflicted according to the police, while the 8-year-old girl was found unconscious. She later died from her injuries.
The teacher is said to have previously been on sick leave for depression, but returned to teach at the school last year.
