The abuse took place remotely via the app Snapchat. Three middle school-aged girls, living in other parts of Sweden, were subjected to it.
The teacher has persuaded them to send sexually explicit pictures and videos of themselves. He has also sent such pictures and videos of himself to the girls.
The man has admitted the circumstances, but denies that it was a matter of child rape and child sexual abuse.
The Hälsingland District Court stated in the verdict that the penalty is actually more than five years in prison, but the court took into account that the man will never again be able to work as a teacher after the verdict.
