The organizers had expected that about 900 taxis with owners would be participating in the parade, but significantly more seem to have turned up, says the police's press spokesperson Rebecca Landberg.
This is the second year the parade is being held between Berzelii Park and Djurgården in central Stockholm. Last year, 350 taxis were registered, this year the number has more than doubled.
Additionally, there are many more who have come to watch the parade. We have had patrols on site, but the atmosphere has been good, says Rebecca Landberg.
According to Aftonbladet, the long - and slow-moving - parade is said to have caused long traffic jams to and from parts of Stockholm.
