The taxi driver who ran over three people at Triangeln in central Malmö on Tuesday will not be detained.
He has been released. He had been detained to prevent him from influencing the investigation. The remaining investigative measures I have come to the conclusion that can be done without him being detained, says prosecutor Charlotta Holmgren.
The man, who is in his 50s, is still suspected of gross negligence leading to another's death, gross bodily harm and gross reckless driving. A 55-year-old woman died and two men were seriously injured in connection with the collision.
We are still working on investigating the incident, but nothing has emerged to suggest that he intended to harm anyone, says Charlotta Holmgren.
