According to the American judge, the brothers' wealth and frequent foreign travel would pose a significant "flight risk" if they were released, Reuters reports.

The Tate brothers are being held in custody awaiting extradition to the UK, where they face a total of 59 charges, including multiple counts of rape and distribution of child abuse material. The extradition has been appealed by the brothers, who have both British and American citizenship, and who deny any wrongdoing.

They are also facing charges in both the United States and Romania.

Andrew and Tristan Tate, self-proclaimed misogynists and influencers from the so-called “manosphere,” have over the years amassed a large following of primarily young men and boys.
