After months of speculation, it's finally clear: Kylian Mbappé has signed with newly crowned Champions League champion Real Madrid.
This is reported by the usually well-informed football journalist Fabrizio Romano on X.
According to Romano, the contract has been signed and the French national team star will be presented in the coming week.
Mbappé confirmed a few weeks ago that he would play out his contract with Paris SG and leave the club, a decision he made in winter.
Real Madrid had already been on the verge of signing Mbappé a few years ago but was convinced to sign a new, highly lucrative contract with PSG.
Real Madrid secured its 15th title in the Champions League/European Cup on Saturday evening with a 2-0 win over Dortmund at Wembley and also recently won the Spanish league title. A feat considering the club lacks a profiled finisher – a so-called "number 9".
Offensive midfielder Jude Bellingham has filled this gap in a brilliant way during his first, successful season with the club after moving from Dortmund.
With Mbappé, a natural finisher of world-class quality, in the team, Real increases its offensive firepower even further.
Bellingham was asked questions about Kylian Mbappé after the final in London.
