The delegation's members are to be highly placed and ready to meet their Egyptian counterparts on Saturday, say anonymous Hamas representatives to AFP.
One of the Hamas sources says that in addition to a permanent ceasefire, they will present demands for the blockade of Gaza to be broken and for opportunities to be created for the reconstruction of the war-torn area.
The first phase of the ceasefire was originally supposed to end last weekend, but the parties are still not in agreement on how to proceed. Israel currently wants the first phase to be extended with the existing conditions, while Hamas wants to see progress towards phase two. Phase two was originally intended to lead to a lasting ceasefire and the release of the hostages still held by Hamas.
US President Donald Trump has directed sharp threats at Hamas, demanding that they release all remaining hostages immediately. A Hamas spokesperson has since come out and said that any escalation from Israel's side will lead to the hostages' deaths.
