The Olympic and World Championship bronze medalist only won one match in the 48-kilogram class, against Turkey's Sila Ersin.
Then came the losses. The defeat against Azerbaijan's Shafag Hamidova ended her chances of gold, and when it was time for the repechage - and a chance for bronze with two wins - she lost to Russia's Marina Vorobeva.
"She is disappointed and always wants to win," national team coach Viktor Carlsson told SVT.
Vorobeva ultimately took bronze, and the gold was won by France's Shirine Boukli, who defeated Russia's Sabina Giliazova in the final.
