A spokesman for the Taliban regime in Afghanistan said nine children were among the ten people killed in the overnight attack in Khost province. Four more people were reportedly wounded in other airstrikes in Kunar and Paktika provinces.
Pakistan denies the reports. The country's military spokesman, Ahmad Sharif Chaudhry, says the country does not target and kill civilians.
"We announce and confirm when we carry out such attacks," he said during a press conference.
Attacks in border areas between Pakistan and Afghanistan have claimed over a hundred lives, and the countries have accused each other of escalating the situation.
