Representatives of the two countries recently met in Istanbul, Turkey, to finalize negotiations on a ceasefire that the parties agreed to earlier in October.
Now Afghanistan's Taliban regime announces that the talks have failed - once again.
"The irresponsible and uncooperative attitude of the Pakistani delegation has not yielded any results," Taliban government spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid said on social media.
Attacks in border areas have claimed over a hundred lives and the countries have accused each other of escalating the situation.
It is unclear how the Pakistani government views the latest talks. About a week ago, the country's Information Minister Attaullah Tarar said the negotiations had not led to a "workable solution."
