The incident occurred at the end of the junior season in June 2024. In a video clip, bare-chested players are seen exchanging punches and kicks. They are wearing shin guards and gloves, but no head protection.
The song "Eye of the Tiger" is played in the background, and teammates stand around cheering before the fight breaks off and new fighters take over. According to Aftonbladet, the players are between 15 and 18 years old. In one match, there was a difference of three years and up to 30 kilos between the participants.
"In one film, there's a guy who gets beaten up pretty badly. Then afterwards they said that the film can't be posted or sent anywhere," a player who was there told Aftonbladet.
According to the newspaper, the day was intended as a fun end to the season and was perceived that way by some of the players – but not all.
"I saw many people fighting there but didn't want to," says one player.
Stefan Gustavson, CEO of AIK since October 2024, reacts strongly.
"You're both sad and disappointed when you see this. We shouldn't be doing things like this at all," he says.
That's nothing AIK should stand for.
