Taiwan has agreed to invest the equivalent of just over 2,300 billion Swedish kronor in the United States, reports CNBC.
The promise is part of a new trade agreement between the two countries, and concerns building factories to manufacture computer chips within US borders.
The US has agreed to limit tariffs on Taiwan to 15 percent, down from 20 percent, and has also agreed to waive tariffs on generic drugs, aircraft components and certain natural resources, according to CNBC.
