The suspects allegedly traded shares despite a trading ban, the prosecutor wrote in a statement.
The homes of the nine suspects and ten other locations - including Evergreen Marine’s premises - have also been searched in search of evidence.
The shipping company writes in a statement to the Taiwan Stock Exchange that it is cooperating with investigators.
"The incident has no significant impact on the company's financial condition or business operations," Evergreen Marine writes.
Evergreen is a globally active container shipping company, with more than 200 ships in its fleet. The shipping company became world-famous after one of its ships ran aground and blocked the Suez Canal for six days in March 2021.
