Västervik's British speedway star Tai Woffinden is still being kept sedated after the serious crash during a match in Poland on Sunday. This according to a statement from the hospital in Rzeszów, which his Polish club Stal Rzeszów published on X.
Woffinden sustained multiple fractures as well as a chest injury and underwent surgery for several hours on Sunday evening.
The situation is currently stable, but he is still being cared for in the intensive care unit.
The accident occurred during a friendly match against Krosno. The 34-year-old Tai Woffinden has won the World Championship three times: 2013, 2015, and 2018.
