Just a couple of weeks ago it became clear that Taha Ali had left Malmö FF for Greek side PAOK.
On Thursday evening, the 28-year-old was due to make his debut for his new club and was named in the starting XI for the Europa League qualifier against Dynamo Kyiv.
But it was anything but successful.
According to the Greek Gazetta, Ali injured his shoulder after just a few minutes and was forced to leave the field in the 14th minute.
It is still unclear how serious the injury is, but according to the newspaper, Ali will miss the return leg. PAOK coach Alessio Lisci was tight-lipped about the Swede's injury situation after the match.
"As for Ali, we have to wait for tomorrow's examinations," he told the newspaper.
PAOK won the match 3–2.
