The notice applies to the Systembolaget's warehouses in Örebro, Sundsvall, and Kungsängen, as well as to the head office in Stockholm, but according to the Union's chief negotiator Martin Wästfelt, the measure will also affect the stores.

"This will be noticed fairly quickly in the stores, since our members at the warehouses and head office serve the stores with goods and services. And it is our intention that it should be a powerful notice."

The Union has negotiated with Svensk Handel during the spring regarding new collective agreements for Systembolaget employees. The focus has been on wage increases, working hour reductions, and regulations for part-time employees working overtime.

Strike from June 10

Despite intense negotiations, the parties have not reached an agreement. If no agreement is reached, the conflict measures will come into force on June 10 at 5 am and will apply until further notice.

The employer regrets the notice.

"Just like in all other agreement areas, we will sign an agreement on the mark, i.e., at the same cost level as the rest of the labor market. In this case, we and the Union have not reached consensus on how it can be achieved," says Svensk Handel's chief negotiator Ola Axelsson in a press release.

"Not said no"

In the negotiations, the Union has, among other things, made demands for working hour reductions and overtime compensation.

"We have not said no to those demands. But the agreement as a whole must be within the mark. We were willing to continue the negotiations to find such solutions," says Ola Axelsson.

Mediators will henceforth lead the negotiations between the parties.
