Syria will hold elections to the parliament in September, according to the state news agency Sana.
This will be the country's first election since the former long-time dictator Bashar al-Assad was overthrown last year. Syria is now ruled by Ahmed al-Sharaa, leader of the Islamist rebel group Hay'at Tahrir al-Sham (HTS).
The election will be held between September 15 and 20.
