At the close, the S&P 500 had risen 0.8 percent while the tech-heavy Nasdaq rose 1.6 percent - setting new records for both indexes. The Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 0.2 percent.
After falling more than 10 percent from its previous record high in March, Wall Street has climbed back up in recent weeks, despite recurring concerns about the economic impact of the war in Iran.
Among individual stocks, the banking sector is rising after strong earnings reports from Bank of America and Morgan Stanley.
Clothing company American Eagle Outfitters is also among the winners - when the trading day ended, the stock had surged just over 9 percent. This came after it was announced that actor Sydney Sweeney would do another advertising campaign for the clothing brand.
