Switzerland's national football team has only missed one World Championship or European Championship final since 2006 and has created the best possible conditions to keep the streak alive over the championship in the USA, Mexico, and Canada next summer.
After Friday's 4–0 win at home against Kosovo at St Jakob-Park in Basel, it became 3–0 against Slovenia at the same arena on Monday evening.
Most recently, Switzerland scored four goals between minutes 22 and 45. Now it became three between minutes 18 and 38. Breel Embolo, who scored two goals against Kosovo, scored another one against Slovenia and is the best goal scorer in the European World Championship qualifying group B.
In parallel with Switzerland's new outburst, Sweden lost disastrously with 0–2 away against Kosovo in Pristina.
Switzerland, six points, thus has a significant advantage when the World Championship qualifying continues in October and November. Kosovo is second with three points and Sweden and Slovenia have one each.
The group winner goes directly to the World Championship, the second place gets to play playoff.
