Switzerland is ready to host a top-level meeting between the US's incoming president Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin on the Ukraine war, according to the Swiss Foreign Ministry's communications chief Nicolas Bideau to the newspaper Le Temps, reports Kyiv Independent.
In June last year, Switzerland hosted a peace conference in Bürgenstock and since then, the country has informed the parties – Ukraine, Russia, and the USA – that they are willing to facilitate diplomatic initiatives.
The statement comes after the Kremlin recently expressed a desire to meet Trump for an "unconditional" meeting.
