Former Norwegian Prime Minister Jagland is said to have been close to Epstein during his time as President of the Council of Europe. He is now being investigated by both the Council of Europe and Norwegian authorities.
Göthberg writes in a post on Facebook that the primary purpose of the review is to prevent corruption and provide recommendations for the future.
"I will examine the Epstein case, its political consequences and its significance for the Council of Europe, and make recommendations on how something like this cannot happen again," he writes.
