Dejmek Hack has been appointed the new Director-General of DG Fisma, which is responsible for financial stability, financial services and the EU's Capital Markets Union.
This makes her one of the highest-ranking Swedish officials in the EU.
Dejmek Hack was previously Chief of Staff to Swedish EU Commissioner Jessika Roswall and was also one of the EU Commission's lead negotiators on Britain's withdrawal from the EU.
The Directorates-General in the EU are most closely comparable to Swedish ministries.
