The last time the Swedes competed in Brazil, in Saquarema, Hölting Nilsson and Andersson finished second.
But despite the final loss, Hölting Nilsson and Andersson became new world No. 1s.
Now competing in Brazil again, this time in the capital Brasília, they have reached the semi-finals after defeating Austria's Tim Berger and Timo Hammarberg in the quarter-finals. After five matches, the Swedes have only lost one set.
"We've held on to our game well. In this match, most things were right, so it felt good," says Andersson.
The Swedish world No. 2s, David Åhman and Jonatan Hellvig, were already eliminated in the round of 16.
