The Swedish table tennis ladies are eliminated in the team European Championship. Germany won the quarterfinal with 3–0 in matches. I am sorry to miss a chance for a medal, says a tearful Filippa Bergand to SVT.

Stina Källberg started against Sabine Winter and lost with 1–3. Sweden's number one Linda Bergström then lost to Annett Kaufmann with 0–3 and Filippa Bergand had nothing to set against in the meeting with Nina Mittelham, 0–3.

It's damn tough actually. I'm not sad that we lost to the Germans. They have a really good team and are big favorites to win, says Filippa Bergand with tears streaming.

I'm sad about burning a chance for a medal. We have a good team and it would have been so damn fun to get something for it sometime. Now I'm going to eat something good and try to forget this crap.

Linda Bergström tells SVT that she made a bad match.

I had the lead in both the first and second set and lost five-six balls in a row. It really doesn't hold. My body wasn't with me today, it's a shame, she says.

Bergström has had problems with her legs and pelvis and been away for three weeks before the European Championship.

I hoped to hold out as long as possible but today it stopped, she says.

Corrected: In earlier versions, it was incorrectly stated which playoff match it was and the result. The correct is quarterfinal and 3–0.
