The Swedish women's curling team will face Canada in Friday's Olympic semi-final in Cortina. In the other semi-final, which will be played at the same time, Switzerland will face the United States.

Anna Hasselborg, Sara McManus, Agnes Knochenhauer, Sofia Scharback and reserve Johanna Heldin won the regular season.

Canada, ranked number one in the world, only reached the semifinals after defeating South Korea 10–7 in their final group game.

Canada won earlier this week against Sweden 7–6, one of Sweden's two losses in the regular season.

But the Canadians lived dangerously. Switzerland forced the USA into the play-off round. The USA eventually won - and saved Canada from missing the semifinals.

The bronze medal match will be played on Saturday and the final on Sunday, the last day of the Winter Games.
