The woman was shot on Monday evening at a restaurant in Lisbon's Baixa district and taken to hospital by ambulance. She was likely hit by a stray bullet.
The woman, who according to TT was in the city as a tourist, was reportedly hit in the upper body. Her condition is unclear.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs confirms in an email to TT that a Swedish woman was injured on August 10 in Portugal. “The embassy in Lisbon is in contact with the injured woman,” it writes.
According to witness accounts, the woman managed to get into a restaurant herself, where she asked for help.
Two people fled the scene in a vehicle, according to Portuguese media.
According to the newspaper Correio da Manha, Portuguese police have arrested a man suspected of the shooting. He is already known to the police.
