She was shot on Monday evening at a restaurant in Lisbon's Baixa district and was taken by ambulance to hospital.
The woman, who according to TT was in the city as a tourist, was reportedly hit in the upper body. Her condition is unclear.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs confirms in an email to TT that a Swedish woman was injured on August 10 in Portugal. “The embassy in Lisbon is in contact with the injured woman,” it writes.
According to witness accounts, the woman managed to get into a restaurant herself, where she asked for help.
Two people fled the scene in a vehicle, according to Portuguese media.
According to information provided to the newspaper Correio da Manha, the suspects are known to be involved in drug trafficking.
