The Transport Administration terminates the contract with WLC, one of the contractors building the West Link in Gothenburg. Behind the decision are, according to the authority, both delays and major cost increases.

West Link, including over six kilometers of railway tunnel under Gothenburg, has been hit by another setback.

After the Swedish Transport Administration reviewed the stage at Korsvägen and directed sharp criticism at WLC, which includes NCC, the contract with the consortium is now being terminated.

We are very disappointed, to say the least, damned, says Patrick Guné, head of Major Projects at the Swedish Transport Administration.

According to the authority, this is partly due to cost increases of almost 400 percent and that WLC has favored its own and related companies.

NCC has previously dismissed the criticism.

West Link is expected to be fully completed by 2030, according to the latest forecast.
